As much as you wish you could… You can’t do it all on your own. Sometimes you have to fight that entrepreneur stubbornness and GET SOME HELP.

Take it from me, in the beginning, stages of my business I tried to cut costs wherever I could. While being tight on your budget might seem like a good idea, it will eventually put you at a great disadvantage. Think about all the time, energy, and brainpower you could be saving if you got those overwhelming projects or small tasks taken care of by someone else.

Why outsource?

Outsourcing certain aspects of your business will free up time so you can work in your zone of genius. You can spend more time on the money-generating projects you are passionate about and expert in. This means less time feeling frustrated and overwhelmed.

For me, I’ve learned to immediately say no to tech fixes. Instead, I let the experts deal with any tech hiccups. And trust me, the cost is priceless when it comes to preserving my sanity.  Work with your strengths and let others take care of the rest!

Here are 3 areas I happily outsource:

  1. Website updates & maintenance
Your website provides legitimacy to your business. Think about it… You Google search for a business or service and click the first few links that come up. You are probably going to choose the most up-to-date, professional-looking website, right?

In our ever-increasing online world, your website will affirm that you are ready to go with your services. Unless you are good at coding and IT, managing a website can be a foreign language (at least it is for me).

Outsourcing website help will allow you to focus on the content on the website while allowing an expert to do the rest. No more worrying about buttons, tabs, codes or links. Our online world is always changing, let someone who focuses on trends and updates keep your website fresh, clean and SEO optimized.
  2. Marketing & Social Media
This is the biggest one for me and a lot of entrepreneurs. Marketing = MONEY. What makes good marketing? Consistency.

For those of us who run our business with social media, we know the cost of taking a day off is too real. Consistency is key and showing up for your audience is essential. Marketing in itself is a full-time job so don’t kid yourself by trying to do it all on your own. Get help writing your newsletters, creating social media graphics, and tracking metrics. Just like with the website, you focus on the high-level stuff and let the expert get to work and execute the details.
  3. Compliance and filing
Running your own business means YOU are in charge of managing legal regulations, industry requirements, and corporate filings. That’s A LOT of research and analysis to comprehend.. Missing deadlines can cause you some serious issues. Don’t put that stress on yourself!

As a business owner, you already have a lot on your plate and many new challenges to tackle on the daily, so consider outsourcing your business formation and compliance filings. This will allow you to stay creative and serve your clients while having the peace of mind that your business is functioning legally.

Part of this is understanding your tax deadlines and payments. Not ready to spend the money on outsourcing? Here are some free resources to give you some guidance.

What’s stopping you from outsourcing?

At first, I felt that outsourcing might take away from the unique qualities that made my business… mine. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

A true CEO knows the way to grow a sustainable business is to embody a leadership role. That requires you to let go of the details and count on your team to execute.  Remember, there can be a million ways to do a single task. The ultimate goal is to get the task done accurately…even if it’s not 100% exactly how you would have done it.

Outsourcing doesn’t mean giving up creativity. It means you are sharing your vision with experts so you can do the thing you love most, without burnout, in a way that’s aligned with your vision…and that’s serving your clients.
