So how do you know if it’s the right time to hire? Ask yourself these questions.
Are you burning yourself out?
If you are like most business owners, you probably are/have felt like you are doing everything you can to stay above water. Sometimes it feels as though you are hanging on by a thread. While pressure and being busy can be good, there comes a time when busy turns into burn out for your craft. If you no longer have a passion for what you do because of burn out, it might be time to hire.
What’s the quality of your work like?
Are you so busy that the quality of your work is suffering? Are you no longer able to respond to your clients within a reasonable time? This can cause customers to find another business to work with who does the same thing you do, but with much more care and attention. Not only will you lose out on business, but you also run the risk of putting your reputation on the line. Hiring help is the investment your business needs to churn out quality work and happy customers.
Do you have time to make ~money moves~?
If you are so busy doing tiny tasks that you do not have time to strategize, brainstorm, and execute big picture ideas, you are cutting into your profit. When it comes to your profits, it’s pivotal to make time to work ON your business, not just IN your business.
Is your time worth more than some of the tasks you have to do?
If you have reached a point in your business where some tasks can be done by someone at a lower rate, it might be time to hire. If these tasks done by someone else free up your time to work on high dollar tasks, it’s worth it. You are the BOSS BABE. Consider hiring out tasks such as scheduling, email management, social media management, admin and tech.
If you answered yes to at least one of the above questions, then think about your hiring options. Not everyone needs a full-time employee. At least not at the start. There are freelancers, virtual assistants, and agencies that you can contract out to free up some of your valuable time.
Think about what YOU are exceptional at and what you LOVE to do… and what makes the most money for your business. Those are the things that you need to reserve your time for. The tasks that make you go UGGGHHH and the ones that may be mindlessly easy are the ones that are worth getting off your plate. The tax break associated with hiring costs coupled with the profit you will make by freeing uptime to make growth & money moves will be a game changer for your business!
