“Reading is the strongest signal for success in the future that I have seen.” – Oprah Winfrey, aka thee iconic, original media super genius and oh BILLIONAIRE we all know and love.
I don’t know about you, but I consider Oprah the OG. She is one of the best examples of a business success story that I can think of. If Oprah says reading was fundamental for her success, it’s best to listen. I think it matters what you read – it could be books, articles, blogs, whatever it is, just make sure it nourishes you. When you enrich yourself, you invest in everything around you, including your business. Ideally, you are reading a variety to make sure to diversify the information you are intaking. It’s pretty amazing how learning from different folks can paint a stronger view that motivates and inspires us along this business journey.
Here are my top picks for the best blogs small business owners should be reading:
Tiffany Aliche, is the person behind The Budgetnista, an award-winning financial education blog. She has made it her mission to empower women and provide them with access to the tools and resources needed to create a better life for themselves and their families. I love her, go check her out!
The Balance Small Business is my personal favorite! They really cover EVERYTHING in regards to launching and managing your own business. Reading this blog will give you can get clear advice on entrepreneurship, bookkeeping, hiring practices, more. It’s relevant for all business owners, whether you’re just starting out or in need of a tune-up.
If you don’t know who Gary Vaynerchuk is, stop everything and look him up. He’s a digital marketing genius that revolutionized how business owners look at social media to become a part of everyday practice. He also gives social media advice to Fortune 500 companies. He has so many successes, reading his blog is like finding gold trinkets. I personally look to him for inspiration when it comes to my digital image.
Entrepreneur is self-proclaimed premier source for small business management, but I’d say watching how they operate is a business lesson in itself. Of course, there’s a magazine portion but they also have podcasts, host webinars, sell products and have a poppin’ instagram account. Check them out – chances are you’ll find something that interests you.
