Whewwww!

We are reaching the end of the first month in the second quarter. Can you believe it? 2019 is flying right by. Before you know it, you’ll be pulling out the  short-shorts, slathering on sunscreen and laying out on the beach while sipping on a Tito’s Greyhound, extra Tito’s please!

Even though our minds try to trick us that we are in Jamaica lounging on Seven Mile Beach, the reality is grind season is still on.  ✅

It gets tough this time around, because you’ve been spending money and energy yet not seeing the results you hoped for. You’ve been putting in time and effort since January (or longer) but the end may feel like it’s still far away.

I know because I’m right there with you.

As some of you know, I hosted my first ever webinar last month. It was a thrilling experience albeit a challenging one. I learned what it takes to gather the right audience, prepare a presentation and get down to the nitty-gritty of what people really want to hear.

Of course, I’m proud of what I accomplished but there were some things I wanted to change. I did the webinar on my own in my office with a webcam from Best Buy attached to my laptop. It took me 45 minutes to figure out the best possible lighting situation (which is much harder than I thought). There were some minor technical difficulties at the end where the screen went black for a second (hmmm  someone forgot to charge the laptop). Who knew hosting a webinar required so many inputs? Thankfully, my wine helped me to feel just fine. Yes, I was sipping on some good ole Rosé.

It wasn’t perfect, but I felt so accomplished at the end. Why?  Because I got to talk to YOU: women entrepreneurs and business owners just like me.  I’ve been in this CPA entrepreneurship game for a decade servicing local individuals and small businesses with tax compliance and consulting.  I’ve been under the radar, hiding myself from YOU. That first webinar was practice -I was only getting my feet wet. I’m more than ready to show more of myself.

In this business world, if your numbers are boo-boo then your profits will stink.  That simple. As a CPA, it’s my duty to help you get your numbers in order. How? By breaking down revenue, expenses, accounting, and profits so that you understand how to track them properly and  formulate a story illustrating what those numbers mean.

By understanding your numbers, you are empowered to go harder in your business. You gain confidence to say no to that client who pays you in April for work you completed in January.  You understand the investment in hiring a Virtual Assistant so you can carve out more time to bring in more clients and grow your profits.  It’s really a mindset thing. And I will help you understand that. Just keep rocking with me. Let’s keeping going, sis. Summer is coming.

My tip: find your reason. Find what keeps you going. That’s the only thing that will carry you until the wins start pouring in.

To more money in our pockets,

Chika
