Frustration.
Community.
Focus.
Loneliness.
Confusion.
This year has been a whirlwind. It flew by, but at the same time it dragged by so slowly I wanted to tear my eyelashes out at times. It’s really hard to describe 2020.
There has been so much loss and devastation, but we have also witnessed the spirit and strength of coming together during the worst of times. People led food drives, others sewed masks for medical workers in their spare time, and everyday people lent a hand whenever they could.
I think, now, more than ever, I’ve never been more grateful for what I have and the privileges I enjoy – some people aren’t so lucky.
Gratitude is not ignoring the negativity or tough times., It’s about acknowledging it, living with it, and choosing to move forward despite it. We choose to highlight the positive and remember our purpose and vision.
I’m not going to pretend like this year wasn’t shitty AF. I’m not going to tell you that you need to be happy and ignore what’s going on. But, I do hope this Thanksgiving brings you peace, or at least a moment of clarity and gratitude. It’s what you deserve.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Chika
