Hola.

Today, I want to talk to you about something personal. I know, I know, it seems like I’m usually all about my business (which isn’t all the way wrong) but sometimes we need to take the time to remember that we’re not just brands, but human beings too.

Don’t get me wrong, launching Chika’s Tax Tips has most certainly been the highlight of my 2018. So far it’s been a terrifying but ultimately fulfilling adventure — I’m doing something I have never done before.

Of course, I’ve been helping badass entrepreneurs and businesses slay their taxes for over a decade now. But this feels different. I’m reaching women on a macro scale. Instead of just doing their taxes, I’m sharing the necessary tools to become better bosses and businesswomen.

As you can imagine, I’m a very busy woman. Balancing my CPA work, Bikram Yoga side-hustle and personal lives are wearing me out.

That being said, that doesn’t mean I don’t have moments where I want to just give up. Days that seem overwhelming because of too many tasks, not enough time, and low energy brain power.

Social media is great but sometimes can present a one-sided view of a person. Don’t let the Instagrams, emails and Facebook posts fool you. It seems like I always have stuff together, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have insecurities in the background.

During these stressful times, I give myself a few seconds, minutes, hours — whatever is needed — to take a deep breath and relax. I know I won’t be giving my best self to my passions and ambitions if I’m exhausted and worn out. It’s in your best interest to take care of yourself.

My tip for you: keep it going. The New Year is the perfect time to recuperate and reimagine the type of life you want to live for yourself. Remember to have other important loves in your life aside from your business. I teach yoga a few times a week and even though it takes me away from my office desk, it literally keeps me sane.

What’s your hobby or interest that you do on the side? Or do you have other methods to motivate yourself? Hit REPLY and let me know.

With love,

Chika.
